Shannon was a fantastic mentor during my senior year of undergraduate school and into my graduate school of Occupational Therapy at Tufts. She has wisdom to impact on young students, and helped me navigate my transition to the working world. At the time, I felt like I needed someone to help organize a path for my career goals. Shannon not only actively listened, but she appreciated my past and current experiences. Shannon pointed me in the direction of a local startup with a mission that I love and connected with instantly. I interviewed directly with the founder of the company and was offered a job. The fact that the founder and I clicked on multiple levels and that the company is something I can connect with and care about, shows that Shannon is good at analyzing the person-to-career fit, and in taking time to make thoughtful recommendations.

As an international college student facing tough career and life decisions, Shannon taught me the invaluable skill of asking myself the right questions. In 2021 I made an extremely difficult career pivot from philosophy to data science, with only an online bootcamp certificate for my qualification in my new career. After I finished my bootcamp, I began working with Shannon in one on one weekly career coaching calls, where I learned strategies and perspectives that eventually landed me my first full time professional job in the data space. Every single week Shannon showed up with energy and a willingness to dig in and help me do the necessary work to advance my career. From Shannon I learned how best to leverage my unrelated past experience to actually work to my advantage in entering this new industry.

Shannon gave me the clothes from her closet to help me land my very first job out of college. She believed in me and gave me the confidence I needed to nail that interview and secure my first professional job at the Harvard Institutes of Medicine in Boston. I will never forget her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for me and the students under her care. She is an exceptional person, mentor and leader who adds immeasurable value to any group or organization she is part of. I’m lucky and honored to call her a friend!

I was a very involved and accomplished student participating in various competitive academic programs.
